BRELA, Vacancies Opportunities – May 2025

The Business Registrations and Licensing Agency (BRELA) is an Executive Agency under the Ministry of Investment, Industry, and Trade in Tanzania. Established under the Government Executive Agencies Act No. 30 of 1997 and officially launched on December 3, 1999, BRELA is tasked with ensuring efficient business administration and regulatory services in the country. The agency is mandated to implement and oversee various laws that govern business activities and intellectual property rights. Key legislation under BRELA’s jurisdiction includes the Companies Act, Cap. 212, which regulates company formation and operations; the Business Names Act, Cap. 213 R.E. 2002, which governs the registration of business names; and the Trade and Service Marks Act, Cap. 326 R.E 2002, which deals with the protection of trademarks and service marks. Additionally, BRELA manages the Patent Registration Act, Cap. 217 R.E 2002, which supports the registration of patents; the Business Licensing Act, Cap. 208 R.E 2002, overseeing business licensing; and the National Industries (Licensing and Registration) Act, Cap. 46 R.E. 2002, which pertains to the licensing and registration of industries. BRELA serves as a crucial entity in fostering a conducive environment for business growth by simplifying processes and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. Through its online services platform, BRELA has significantly enhanced efficiency, allowing entrepreneurs and investors to register businesses, trademarks, patents, and other related services remotely.
